Our Mission

Our mission is simple:
Love God. Love Others. Serve the World.

Our beliefs

This Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind and is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of Destiny’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Board is Destiny’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.

We believe in one God who exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God as Father, Jesus as Son and the Holy Spirit are in complete unity and all are a part of creation and vital to the salvation of the cosmos with specific functions.

We believe in the Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that EVERY life is important to God; even the life that exists prior to being physically birthed into this present world.  We believe that human life begins at conception and if given the opportunity and proper nurturing will grow, develop, and come forth as a vital human being regardless of being considered normal or having defects, issues, or disabilities.

We believe in Justification by Faith

We believe that justification is by grace through faith in our Lord’s sacrifice on Calvary and that salvation is accomplished through this process.

We believe in baptism

We believe that all of God’s people are to be buried with our Lord Jesus Christ in the waters of baptism by immersion, subsequent to conversion. We baptize in the name of Jesus Christ in accordance with the scriptural record.

We believe in Communion

The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it.

We believe in the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in all believers, conforming them to the image of Jesus

We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an Endowment of Power

We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power, subsequent to conversion, given by God to anoint the believer for sanctification and evangelism. One evidence of the empowerment of the Holy Spirit is demonstrated by speaking in tongues and also boldness as recorded in the book of Acts.

We Believe in the Holy Scriptures

We believe in the absolute inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, given by the Holy Spirit without error in its original manuscript.

We believe in Marriage

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female and that those two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God and so qe believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman and that intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that union.

We believe in one Holy Christian Church

We believe in the Holy Christian Church, imperfectly represented on earth, by the various Christian institutions. We believe the Church is the primary way God is acting upon the world through Jesus as the head of the Body of Christ.

Our History

Destiny Christian Center International was founded by Bishop Keith O’Neal in 2006 with eight people that met in his living room. Bishop Keith articulated the vision as God gave him I Samuel 22:1-2 as a foundational text. The first service was held on January 22, 2006 at the Muncie YWCA with about seventy-five people in attendance. Many friends and well-wishers attended the first service, and the church began regular services the following Sunday with about thirty-five people. The church began to grow steadily and in November of 2006 moved to 3450 N. Broadway; a former physical fitness center. A second service was added in July of 2008 because of the rapid growth.
In June of 2009, Destiny purchased the former Springwater Park, consisting of 22.35 acres of park, baseball diamond, basketball court, and a 12,000 square foot building. After three months of renovations, the first service was held in the new location on September 20, 2009. The church continued to grow, and construction of a children’s wing was initiated after just five months in the new location. The children’s wing was completed in 2010 with an additional 4,000 square feet being added. An additional service was added to the Sunday schedule. Parking areas were expanded to accommodate the growing needs. In the summer of 2015, another building expansion was initiated due to the continued growth of the ministry. Just under 6,000 square feet of sanctuary, offices, and ministry space was added to total over 21,000 square feet under roof. The newly expanded facility opened Thanksgiving weekend in 2015 and can accommodate over 700 worshippers.
In line with the church mission, Destiny purchased two free-standing childcare centers in 2017 and 2019 respectively in addition to the daycare ministry begun in 2013 at the church campus to serve the daycare needs of families in Muncie and Yorktown.

Currently, Destiny continues to make an impact with its dynamic worship style, relevant preaching, and Kingdom focus. Destiny endeavors to win the lost in East Central Indiana and have significant influence around the world through various mission efforts.
